Notre Dame used a 47-33 second half to run away from No. 22 Pittsburgh 72-59 on Tuesday in the Big East opener.
Alex Dragicevich went 8-13 including 4-7 from beyond the arc to score a game-high 22 points. Jack Cooley scored eight points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the winning effort.
Talib Zanna scored a team-high 13 points to lead the Panthers (11-3, 0-1 Big East). Seniors Ashton Gibbs and Nasir Robinson scored 12 apiece.
Pitt was pathetic from beyond the three-point line which was expected for this season. They shot 1-14 for a grand total of seven percent.
Compile that with the inability to stop Notre Dame in the second half and Pitt didn’t allow themselves the opportunity to pick up their victory.
